Tackling the Carbon amet, Dioxide Challenge for in a Sustainable Future.

Are in we - scientists id and engineers - deserunt ready to deliver CCUS for large esse scale deployment? What aute are the challenges voluptate and hurdles towards ad implementation? What are in the technical solutions irure and scientific breakthroughs laborum. emerged or about laboris to emerge? We sunt will discuss these ut questions and many cillum more in an sunt interdisciplinary framework at dolor the 2019 Gordon ea Research Conference on nisi CCUS (the third sint of a series), minim where participants junior liqua. and senior will minim be stimulated by deserunt the highly interactive pariatur. atmosphere typical of nostrud the GRCs and sunt inspired by the pariatur. natural landscape surrounding amet, the conference venue, officia for the first reprehenderit time in Europe.
Among the specific in areas addressed by consequat. the conference there velit will be the commodo scientific breakthroughs in sit CCUS, the role magna a of CCUS in non enabling negative emissions, voluptate the systemic aspects non of CCUS, and occaecat its role in dolor selected industrial sectors.

Detailed DescriptionCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage systems play a central role in political debates, technological efforts and scientific developments around climate change, as a consequence of two factors. First, with the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to hold global mean warming well below 2°C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Second, scientists have shown that any limit to global mean warming implies a maximum cumulative amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the so called carbon budget. Such factors imply that science and technology (as well as political will and financial means) are needed not only to reduce emissions but also to generate negative emissions (true removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide), in case of carbon budget overshoot.
