Description :

Tackling the Carbon ex Dioxide Challenge for eiusmod a Sustainable Future.

Are dolore we - scientists commodo and engineers - esse ready to deliver labore CCUS for large liqua. scale deployment? What tempor are the challenges in and hurdles towards deserunt implementation? What are Ut the technical solutions nostrud and scientific breakthroughs quis emerged or about nulla to emerge? We Duis will discuss these est questions and many velit more in an enim interdisciplinary framework at sint the 2019 Gordon amet, Research Conference on laboris CCUS (the third commodo of a series), voluptate where participants junior deserunt and senior will non be stimulated by ut the highly interactive deserunt atmosphere typical of minim the GRCs and ex inspired by the et natural landscape surrounding ex the conference venue, mollit for the first exercitation time in Europe.
Among the specific laboris areas addressed by ipsum the conference there veniam, will be the dolore scientific breakthroughs in ut CCUS, the role deserunt of CCUS in reprehenderit enabling negative emissions, ex the systemic aspects Ut of CCUS, and id its role in ut selected industrial sectors.

Detailed DescriptionCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage systems play a central role in political debates, technological efforts and scientific developments around climate change, as a consequence of two factors. First, with the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to hold global mean warming well below 2°C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Second, scientists have shown that any limit to global mean warming implies a maximum cumulative amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the so called carbon budget. Such factors imply that science and technology (as well as political will and financial means) are needed not only to reduce emissions but also to generate negative emissions (true removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide), in case of carbon budget overshoot.
